Biography
Chiho Tokita is a PhD student at the Department for the Study of Religion interested in the areas of anthropological approach to religion, lived religion, and material religion. Her research will explore roadside shrines in the US, as informal shrines in the public landscape and as rich sites of ritual, material expression, and loss. She has studied at Wesleyan University (BA), Harvard Divinity School (MTS), and the University of Chicago (AM). Prior to the DSR, she also had a ceramics practice.
