Biography

I am currently completing my doctoral research on the Newar and Sanskrit Maṇiśailamahāvadāna, am involved in a translation project funded by a Khyentse Foundation Aśoka Grant, and have been teaching undergraduate courses at the DSR and Dept. for Historical Studies (UTM) that employ experiential and intercultural approaches. I hold a B.A. in Buddhist Philosophy and Himalayan Languages from Kathmandu University and an M.A. in Religion and Culture from Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo. I am interested in Nepāl Bhāṣā, Tibetan, Nepali and Sanskrit languages and ritual literature, and I teach traditional Newar Buddhist dance in collaboration with the Canadian Newa Guthi.
